 God's Healing Power!!!!!!
« Thread Started on Feb 21, 2007, 2:21am »

1 Peter 2:24 Jesus himself bore my sins in His own body on the tree, that I, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by His stripes I am healed.

Isaiah 53:5 For He was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities; the chastisement for my peace (my emotional health, my tranquility, my physical harmony) was upon Him, and by His stripes I am healed.

1 John 3:8 "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]

Deuteronomy 11:21 That my days may be multiplied, and the days of my children, in the land which the LORD sware unto my fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him who was raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me (inside my mind as I posses the mind o Christ, inside my body as His blood flows through me, inside my spirit as I posess the spirit of God), He who raised Christ from the dead will also give me life to my mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in me.

Romans 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

2 Corinthians 3:17 "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (there is freedom, freedom from former restraint or compulsion, release from the imprisonment of the enemy)."

John 8:36 For who the son makes free (not bound, confined, or detained by force of my own doing, others or the devil), is free indeed. My body, my mind, my soul, is free…it is free indeed from sickness, sin and death…

3 John 2 For God, wishes above all things that I mayest prosper and be in health (in my mind, spirit and body), even as my soul prospereth."

Genesis 1:28 As God has called my body to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Isaiah 58:8 And He is saying to my body that"my light shall break forth as the morning, and my health shall spring forth speedily; and his righteousness shall go before thee: the glory of the Lord shall be my rear guard."

Jeremiah 17:14 I therefore say to God, "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise."

Psalms 107 19 I further I cry unto the LORD in my trouble, and he saveth me out of my distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed me, and delivered them from my destructions. 21 Oh that I would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22 And I shall sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing

Psalms 103 1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Revelation 12:11 For "I overcame them (I overcame, sickness, emotional torment, soulish imprisonment, the world, the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..."

Matthew 10:8 And my testimony is that “I believe in healing, I am healing and I do heal.” Heal the sick, I cleanse the lepers, I raise the dead, I cast out devils: freely I have received from God, freely I give...

Hey Taquetta! Sooooo good to see you on the board :). Excellent questions.

I always said that when I get to heaven I have a bunch of questions that I want to ask God, our Father.

One of the questions has to do with healing. Basically, I will ask something like: "Lord how come this one, and not that one..."

But back to your questions:

So you believe in God's Word possesses Healing Power: Yes! Why? Because of the scriptures that you have posted. They all speak to healing physically and mentally. God's word is truth.

What are your thoughts of healing only being in bible times? My thought is that is a bunch of malarky. If healing were only in biblical times then, no one would be healed today. I also think that the bible would some how indicate that healing would not be for those under the new convenant.

What are you thoughts on God's Healing? Hmmm....My thoughts are that God heals. God performs miraculous healings and I always expect healing for those that are sick. However, I will admit that I am puzzled a bit as to why some are healed and others are not. I also wonder what God defines as healing, particularly in the physical sense.

I have more thoughts to share, but wanted to start by answering your specific questions.

*posts a sign in the cornfield*

"My twin use to live here*....no more popcorn for you twin...lol..

I'll just add ditto to what my twin posted...God is the same yesterday today and forever..what He did then..He's doing now...His word is the same...heaven and earth may pass away..but His word remains...

I don't believe God has changed..I believe ppl do....and that is not to say that there have not been times where ppl have believed for healing and have gone to be with God...perhaps that was His will at the time for that person. I don't have the answers twin.

Guess we'll both be in the "what was that about God?" line...

Thank you all for responding. It is good to hear from you all too. God is good and worthy to be praise....

In pursuit of my own healing, I have searched alot about what does it really mean for God to heal and I too have wondered reasons some get healed and some don't.

However, one revelation I have definitely learned that the healing part is easy. It is as simple as receiving salvation or forgiveness as healing is a promise that was given when Jesus was beaten and died for our sins...

The words says, "by his stripes we are healed." So healing is already so. I is the process of having that healing manifest in its fullness...in our earthly lives that we seek in prayer and in declaration and in faith...not the healing but the manifestation of the healing....

Healing definitely comes with responsiblities that all of us must be willing to process toward to acquire true wholeness. Let's consider the man at the pool of Bethesda.

John 5:1-16
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

The man at the pool was saying he wanted to be healed but had no one to put him in the water when the angel came to trouble it. He said he wanted healing but instead of considering other means, he just sat by the pool…the healing waters….for 38 years. He could have had whoever brought put him right by the pool so he could throw himself in when the angel came as he said that when he was coming, someone else stepped in front of him. What if he was already by the edge of the pool?

He could have had whoever brought him for healing, push him in when the angel came. There were other strategies and witty ideas God could have given him but he relied on his own logical means and wisdom and just sat their wishing for 38 years. Thank God Jesus came by and when He did; He inquired and basically wanted to know if the man was really willing to be healed and ready for the responsibility of being healed (Will thou be made whole?). As when we are healed, we can no longer rely on others like we use too (the man was clearly relying on someone else to put him in the water; he had gotten use to being sick and being use to not having certain responsibilities because he was sick);

There are certain expectations and responsibilities that come with healing which is why Jesus gave people instructions like, “take up thy bed and walk,” as with the story above, “go and sin no more (John 9:1-10).” One has to be willing to receive the responsibilities of healing.

Have you ever considered the responsiblities that come after being healed? Share your thoughts

Powerful and thought provoking as usual Taquetta....

To whom much is given...hmmm...the responsibility to give God the glory for it...and is there a responsibility of maintaining it afterwards??

Gotta think more about this...(gosh...wasn't planning on having to...lol)

Ways in Which God Heals:

Instantly (Miracles)

Process (As one matures in Christ God brings old wounds or ungodly behaviors before them and require healing)

Counseling or Mentorship (Depending on the depth of the wounds, one may require counseling or mentorship for healing to occur.

Medication (Some physical and emotional matters require the aid of doctors and medicines for healing) This method is biblical as medications were used at various times in the bible, however, seek God about how to proceed when using this option).

Blocks To Healing:
• Unbelief
• Unforgiveness
• Bitterness
• Anger/Resentment/Harboring Grudges
• Sin and/or a lack of repentance
• Generational Curses
• Unwillingness to be healed:

God will heal someone but because of condemnation, guilt, or inability to simply receive healing, they will continue to operate as an unhealed person even though God has healed them or the opportunity to be healed is present in their lives.

Leah was an example of this. She was married to Jacob who really didn’t want her was a wife but wanted Rachel. Because of the law in their land that the eldest sister had to be married first, Leah’s father tricked Jacob into marry her. Leah did everything to get Jacob attention, especially having his children, which was one thing that Rachel the wanted wife, couldn’t give Jacob. With each child, God was expressing love to Leah and striving to heal her. But because Jacob didn’t show her favor despite her having his kids; Leah not only couldn’t receive God’s gift of children and his expression of love and healing, she didn’t even recognize God’s hand operating in her life. It wasn’t until she had her child that she named Judah that a light turned on within her. She received healing and praise God for being who He was to her. It was only then that Leah realized that she didn’t need mans’ approval…Jacobs approval…that she already had God’s approval and that alone made her worthy in life. This revelation alone not only blessed her, but it opened up her sister’s wound, Rachel, so that she was able to have kids (Genesis 29-30).

What are some areas of your life that are preventing other people from being blessed because of your unwillingness to receive healing?
